I gave birth while bleeding to death and my husband told me to take our baby and disappear — but the blood on his cuff proved he was lying to save us
"Take the baby and leave the country," my husband said while doctors were trying to stop me from bleeding to death. "I'll make sure you have enough money. Just don't ever come back into my life."
For one delirious second I thought the blood loss had made me imagine it.
Then I heard a woman laugh beside him.
